Effect of iCRT3 treatment on the expression of cytokines in the lungs after CLP. CLP-operated male C57BL/6 mice were injected with vehicle or iCRT3 (10 mg/kg body weight) at 5 h post-CLP. Sham-operated mice were used as controls. The lung tissues were harvested at 20 h after CLP. The levels of (A) IL-6, (B) TNF-α, and (C) IL-1β mRNA, in the lung tissue homogenates were determined by qPCR. The results of qPCR analysis are normalized with actin as an internal control and are expressed as fold induction compared to the sham group. Data were expressed as means ± SEM (n = 5–8 mice per group). *P < 0.05 versus sham and # P < 0.05 versus vehicle-treated septic animals.
