  1. †The host gene BGIBMGA001549-TA encodes a pre-protein containing tandem head-to-tail repeats of the monomeric ubiquitin sequence. This pre-protein is then processed by de-ubiquitinating enzymes to produce two host ubiquitin monomers. The difference in the sequences of the two monomers is that one contains an alanine at amino acid position 19 (Ala19), and the other contains Pro19 at the same position. The Ala19 and Pro19 were underlined.
