From: Periostin-binding DNA aptamer treatment attenuates renal fibrosis under diabetic conditions
Specific attachment of the periostin-binding DNA aptamer (PA) to periostin expressed in inner medullary collecting duct (IMCD) cells. IMCD cells were treated with or without transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) (10 ng/ml), periostin siRNA (100 nM), or Cy3-tagged PA (100 pmol/ml). The intensity of Cy3 was significantly increased in TGF-β1-stimulated IMCD cells treated with the Cy3-tagged PA (scale bar, 50 μm).
