CS + LG hydrogel treatment showed a higher number of CD31-positive cells on days 8 and 12, with more functional vascular architecture. A higher number of newly formed blood vessels and more dense microvessels were also observed in day 12 granulation tissues from CS + LG hydrogel treated wounds, compared to control. Values are stated as mean ± SD (n = 5 rats), and the level of significance is conveyed as *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, and ***p < 0.001 respectively, compared to the control.
