5-MTP restores osteogenic and suppresses adipogenic differentiation. BM-MSCs were incubated in LG or HG medium for 2 weeks. They were washed and incubated with osteogenesis-or adipogenesis-induction medium with or without 10 μM 5-MTP for 3 weeks. (A–C) Cells were analyzed for osteogenesis. (A) Alizalin red stain, (B) alkaline phosphatase (ALP) mRNA and (C) Runx2 mRNA. (D–F) Cells were analyzed for adipose differentiation.
