Transmissibility of the rK/09 and its NA stalk mutant viruses in guinea pigs. Transmission efficiency of rK/09, ma-P5, rΔ53–60, rNN58SS, and rN58T was examined in guinea pigs. Solid lines represent the nasal wash titers of infected guinea pigs, and dotted lines represent those of contacts. Transmission efficiency of each virus group is indicated in parenthesis as the ratio of the number of contact guinea pigs versus the number of infected guinea pigs.
