Panel C demonstrates a lack of significant difference in retention change score (RET-Δ) between BDNF val66met genotypes. In contrast, Panel D shows a significantly different influence of exercise on DRD2/ANKK1 glu/glu homozygotes and lys allele carriers. The means and standard error bars presented account for all covariates included in the analysis (age, sex, ethnicity, VO2peak and task). Asterisks indicate a statistically significant main effect of Genotype (p < 0.05). Values above zero indicate a benefit of exercise on motor learning.
