The linear growth of \(\langle {\rm{\Delta }}{\vec{r}}_{{\rm{CM}}}{(t)}^{2}\rangle \) suggests that the confined epidemic performs a random walk. The inset shows the diffusion constant for different spreading rates. The number of samples is \(M=2\times {10}^{4}\).
