Each node represents a bacterial genus or fungal species, and color corresponds to different stages of liquor starter, with red for Nong-flavor (N1, N2, N3 and N4) and blue for Jiang-flavor (J1, J2, J3 and J4) samples. Square nodes stand for Jiang-flavor samples, triangle nodes stand for Nong-flavor samples, and circle nodes stand for co-occurring samples. Edges between nodes represent strong correlations (Spearman’s ρ > 0.7 for bacteria and ρ > 0.6 for fungi), including both positive and negative correlations.
