Cellulose dissociation potential of mean force curves. Pulling distance is set such that 0.5nm is the initial z-distance of the end of the pulled chain to the fibre centre of mass. For reference the removal of 1 cellobiose unit (2 glucose monomers) occurs at the pulling distance of roughly 1.05nm (distances are measured from the centre of the fibre). Error-bars are from bootstrapping and are at least the width of the lines. The black curve in the water subfigure is the same as the dashed line in the other four, however, the error bars are shown.
