Core level XPS spectra (C 1 s and O 1 s) for fresh (a and b) and 1000 hrs aged (c and d) samples. C 1 s indicates the broadening of the high energy peak. Whereas, O 1 s spectra show that the metal carbonate turned to the carboxyl group due to chemical reaction.
