Anthropomorphic phantom with the smaller (photograph; left) and larger (CT scan; right) extension ring simulating different degrees of obesity containing a four-bore CT water insert, in which four cylinders with known HA densities were placed (as shown in the CT scan; right). For the vertebral specimen scans, the insert was replaced with a water insert containing the specimens (Fig. 4).
