Previously inaccessible low temperature and high rate deformation regime now covered by impact nanoindentation testing. The experimental method in combination with in-depth analysis is envisioned to bridge the present characterisation gap between already available high temperature and indentation methods. Development of the required equipment has already been achieved in the context of other nano-mechanical test methods11,12,13.
