Schematic map of the study area in the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago. Sampling was carried out in the Belmonte Island, where there is a dense colony of brown boobies Sula leucogaster with breeding activities throughout the year (highlighted area). All the 304 active and non-active nests (red points) of the Belmonte Island were sampled for latitude, longitude, and altitude with 20 mm-resolution, which were used to build isolines of altitude for the colony.
