Diagnostic value of sclerotic bone lesions in the skull. (A) The graph demonstrates the probability of subjects to have X or more SBLs depending on the overall number of SBLs in that region. In the TSC group, the number of SBLs is relatively high and varies between the subjects. In the control group the probability drops to 0 if a threshold of five SBLs is reached. (B) ROC curve with a cutoff of five SBLs demonstrates a high sensitivity (0.78), specificity (1) and AUC (0.87) for the differentiation of TSC patients from controls. (C) Positive predictive value for a positive TSC diagnosis the specific SBL cutoff values. SBLs: Sclerotic bone lesion. ROC: Receiver operating characteristics.
