Antifungal effect of PAFB and PAF on C. albicans. Cells were exposed to 0.25 × MIC, 1 × MIC and 4 × MIC of (a) PAFB and (b) PAF. Samples at appropriate dilutions were plated on 0.1 × PDA after 0 (control), 6 and 24 h of incubation and the number of colony forming units was determined after 24 h. Colony numbers counted without incubation (0 h) were set as 100%. Values represent the mean ± SD (n = 6). Significant differences (p-values) between values were determined by comparison with the respective survival rate at 0 h. *p < 0.001, **p < 0.0001.
