From: Giant rhyolite lava dome formation after 7.3 ka supereruption at Kikai caldera, SW Japan

Geochemical characteristics of syn- and post-caldera ejecta, exhibiting two well-defined chemical trends respectively. Rocks recovered from Shitaki and Asase on the central lava dome possess compositions identical to post-caldera rocks. Syn-caldera and central dome rocks were analyzed by our XRF with standard procedures and data for post-caldera rocks are from literatures14,19.
