Measured pH-dependent zeta potential of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (MNPs) coated with citrate (red), PEG-PEI (blue), CM-dextran (green), dextran (magenta), and methoxy-PEG-phosphate + rutin (amber) in water. All MNP constructs displayed a negative surface charge at pH 7, except PEG-PEI MNPs.
