Sample design: (a) Diamond unit cell, cell size 1 mm, used to build up the samples. (b) The central part of the samples used for mechanical testing had a designed structural density of 20%, a diameter of 10 mm and a height of 15 mm. (c) In order to clamp the samples during testing, the structural density of the samples increased linearly towards the end (20% to 100%). (d,e) The full sample used for mechanical testing had a height of 105 mm.
