Trypsin-dependent PC and cholesterol release from BHK/ABCA1 cells. BHK/Mock (○, dotted line) and BHK/ABCA1 (●, dotted line) cells were incubated with 0, 25, 50, or 100 μg/mL of trypsin for 60 min at 37 °C. The amounts of PC and cholesterol released into the medium were measured. ABCA1-specific release of PC and cholesterol (●, solid line) were calculated by subtracting the release from BHK/Mock cells from the release from BHK/ABCA1 cells. Experiments were performed in triplicate, and the average values are shown with S.D.
