From: Bulk RKKY signatures of topological phase transition in silicene

The variation of RKKY exchange coupling with illumination parameter Ω. The QSHI and P-QHI phases are divided by a vertical dotted line. Two impurities are distributed on the same lattice along the zigzag direction, as shown in inset, with three configurations in spatial distance R = 270a [Mod(R/a, 3) = 0], 271a [Mod(R/a, 3) = 1] and 272a [Mod(R/a, 3) = 2]. The other parameters are E F  = 0, t = 1.6 eV, and λ so  = 3.9 meV.
