Analysis of the effect of the SDS on the proteolytic pattern of Vip3Af-mutant proteins E483A (pattern “f”, panels a and c) and W552A (“pattern b”, panels b and d) after trypsin treatment. Protein samples were treated with 20% trypsin at 30 °C for the kinetics analysis (panels a and b); each lane corresponds to 3 µg of protein sample. For SDS-PAGE analysis of the size exclusion chromatography elution peak (panels c and d), protein samples were treated with 5% trypsin for 30 min at 37 °C, injected into a Superdex-200 10/300 GL column and the elution fractions subjected to SDS-PAGE.
