From: Daytime eyeshine contributes to pupil camouflage in a cryptobenthic marine fish

Reduction in narrow-sense SAR eyeshine with increased dark-adaptation in Scorpaena porcus. Narrow-sense SAR eyeshine total reflectance (pupil radiance normalized by white standard radiance) under coaxial illumination in the dark as function of time. At t = 0 the fish was light-adapted and the light was switched off resulting in total darkness. The small, coaxial source used to induce eyeshine was only switched on for a brief moment for each measurement. Radiance is integrated over 380–700 nm. Line styles and symbols indicate three different individuals.
