Stimulus duration has no effect on the shape of Ca2+ transients. (A) overlapped traces of transients as averaged from at least 5 mouse VCM. The cells were stimulated at the excitation threshold, by pulses ranging in duration from 200 ns to 200 μs (color-coded). (B) The analysis of the average rise time and decay time constant of Ca2+ transients in individual stimulated cells (mean +/− s.e.) shows no statistically significant impact of pulse duration.
