From: Excitation and injury of adult ventricular cardiomyocytes by nano- to millisecond electric shocks

Trains of 20, 1-Hz shocks at 5x calcium activation threshold cause propidium uptake, irreversible contracture, and blebbing in mouse VCM. Trains started at 27 s into the experiment and continued for 10 s. Small blebs can be seen in DIC images at 3 and 4 min after 10-µs shocks (arrows). See Fig. 5 and text for further details.
