Dark toxicity and phototoxicity of PSs in (a,c) U87MG and (b,d) K562 cells. U87MG or K562 cells were incubated with PSs for 7 h. For phototoxicity, cells were washed with PBS thrice and exposed to light for 1 h in fresh medium. For dark toxicity, cells were washed with PBS thrice and incubated in fresh medium without photoirradiation. The results are expressed as mean ± S.D. (n = 6). Statistical analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA at 200 nM (*p < 0.01).
