Expression and localization of presynaptic-terminal and associated proteins in the OPL of Pomt1 cKO mice. Retinal sections of control (Pomt1+/lox) (a,c,e) and Pomt1 cKO (b,d,f) mice were single or double immunostained with antibodies against β-dystroglycan (β-DG; a–d; green), dystrophin (Dys; c,d; red), pikachurin (e,f; green) and CtBP2 (e,f; red). The nuclei of all sections were stained with DAPI, and are shown in blue on the left side of each micrograph. β-DG was absent in the OPL of Pomt1 cKO mice (b,d), although its expression was unchanged in retinal blood vessels as compared with control animals (a,b; arrowheads).
