Neo-vessel morphology after 24 hours using the two rules. In the right panel (Rule 1) we mark the regions of high vessel density, on the top and bottom, where the hypoxic cells are placed, in contrast with the lower vessel density in a middle region (without hypoxic cells). With Rule 2 (left panel) the vessel density is much more uniform throughout the domain.
