Evaluation of visceral sensitivity in MS and NH rats when adults. (A) Abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) scores under graded colorectal distension pressures. (B) Area under the curve(AUC) of Electromyographic(EMG) activity in the external oblique muscle in response to graded distension pressures. Rats exposed to MS exhibited higher mean AWR scores (Fig. 2A) and enhanced EMG magnitude at strengths of 40, 60, and 80 mmHg CRD pressure when compared to the NH group [*p < 0.05, **p < 0.01] (n = 6 for each group).
