Schematic representation of the suggested process for MK production in stirred bioreactors. According to the results obtained in this study, we suggest to use MC-based iPSC-differentiation into MKs in stirred spinner flask bioreactors for future applications. During this process, iPSCs are seeded on LN521-coated MCs. During 22 days of differentiation in stirred suspension systems, large numbers of MKs are produced and can be easily harvested from the supernatant. After subsequent cultivation and maturation the MKs can be used for PLT production or as a PLT substitute in transfusion.
