Emission rates (ng cm−2 h−1) (mean ± SE) of monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and total emissions from mountain birch (MB) branches with zero (NRT), moderate and high density of RT (MRT and HRT) shrubs growing in the understorey. Differences in emission rates between groups were tested with One-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis non-parametric tests with multiple pairwise comparisons. Different letters above the bars indicate significant difference between groups (P < 0.05).
