Survival rates of animals after NEC induction. Less than 30% of animals in the intervention group survived until their predetermined date of euthanasia. Animals with PAD inhibition (blue) were subjected to the same NEC induction protocol but had a significantly reduced mortality rate compared to animals in the NEC group (p = 0.013).
