Methylation-mediated silencing of tumour-suppressive negative regulators of the RAS signalling pathway. (A) Methylation-specific PCR indicated methylation of RASSF1A and RASD1 in human myeloma cell lines. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR showed an inverse correlation between methylation and expression of each of RASSF1A and RASD1. (B) Methylation-specific PCR showed absence of methylation of RASSF1A and RASD1 in primary samples of patients with relapsed and/or refractory myeloma.
