Elevation of inflammatory cytokines in the aqueous humor of eyes with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PEG), and neovascular glaucoma (NVG). There is a significant elevation of IL-1α, IL-2, and IL-4 in the POAG eyes. In PEG eyes, levels of IL-8, IL-23, and CCL2 were significantly higher than in the normal control eyes. There is a significant elevation of IFN-γ, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12, IL-13, IL-15, IL-17, CCL2, and VEGF in the NVG eyes patients. ANOVA and post hoc tests.
