The markers were sorted according to estimated mutation rates (bars in black) from low to high. The number on the right of each bar is the mutation rate of each NPCL marker. PCR success rates are shown underneath (bars in grey). The mutation rates of widely-used NPCL RAG1 (in green) and mitochondrial gene cyt b (in blue) were selected as references.
