From: Measuring Abnormality in High Dimensional Spaces with Applications in Biomechanical Gait Analysis
The results of measuring overall gait abnormality utilizing the methodology proposed in this paper and established methodologies in gait research. The average abnormality is shown for two groups with known gait differences: unilateral above-knee amputation patients (n = 10) and unilateral below-knee amputation patients (n = 63). This paper’s proposed methodology is able to detect the known differences between the two groups across these dimensions, while the established methodologies cannot.
