Positions of cod zkY and the neighboring genes are indicated. (b) The Y- and X-sequences (grey boxes), including the Y-specific zkY gene, and the nine polymorphisms heterozygous in all males and homozygous in all females (black dots). Long reads confirming assembly integrity were generated using Oxford Nanopore (green) and Pacific Biosciences (blue) sequencing technologies.
