The excellent contrast obtained for lesions (due to I2E-staining) and airways allowed their segmentation and reconstruction shown in (B), where tumorous areas (light pink) and airways (yellow) are well discriminated from the healthy soft-tissue, rendered colorless, and therefore not visible. Distribution of voxel intensity values for the whole organ and for the total volume of tumors in this sample (C) shows that tumorous lesions correspond to 15.4 % of the entire lung’s volume.
