Two schematic models that may explain the characteristics of acceleration records at seismic station WTMC. (A) Model A is based on the bouncing of a deformable mass. (B) Model B is proposed in this study to explain the characteristics of acceleration records for both the Kaikoura mainshock and a M6.3 aftershock.
