The CWI pathway controls P-body formation under cell wall stress. The wild-type strain (WT) and the indicated mutant strains transformed with the plasmid expressing Dcp2-GFP growing exponentially were treated with CR or ZY for one hour, as described in Fig. 1, and Dcp2-GFP containing granules were visualized by fluorescence microscopy. Quantitation of P-bodies from three independent experiments is included in the graph as described in Fig. 1. Statistical significance was determined using a two-tailed, unpaired, Student’s t test by comparing with the corresponding CR or ZY data from the wild-type strain (*P ≤ 0.05, **P ≤ 0.01, ***P ≤ 0.001; ns, not significant).
