Soil organic carbon stocks vary with depth, aspect and hillslope shape. Note that profiles are shallower for divergent topographic locations and deepen considerably in convergent areas for both north- (white) and south-facing (gray) aspect. (b) One-way ANOVA tests confirm significant differences in total SOC for aspect and hillslope topography for all excavated soil pits.
