Impact of ectoine on cell cycle distribution. Exponentially growing cells were incubated with the indicated concentrations of ectoine for 2 h before irradiation with the indicated doses and further incubation for 24 h. Afterwards the cells were harvested, fixed and the cell cycle distribution was assessed using propidium iodide staining.
