From: Modern Iron Ooids of Hydrothermal Origin as a Proxy for Ancient Deposits
EDX elemental map distribution performed on a Panarea ooid with volcanic nucleus. The iron, phosphorus, oxygen, and magnesium EDX maps show a homogeneous distribution in the ooid cortex. Silicon is concentrated in the ooid volcanic core.
