Survival curves to UV-C (254 nm) radiation. P. syringae strains were exposed as 5 × 106 cells/ml suspensions, and E. coli as 5 × 107 cells/ml. P. syringae pv. syringae 281 and P. syringae pv. garcae 158 are shown to be as sensitive as E. coli to this UV range often used in laboratory experiments but absent on Earth’s surface.
