In the multivariate analysis, sex, age, BMI, smoking, family history of CRC, hypertension, diabetes, aspirin, NSAIDs, or lipid lowering agent usage, proportion of patients with significant alcohol consumption, and index colonoscopy findings were controlled. Significant alcohol consumption was defined as more than 20 g/day in women and 30 g/day in men. Risk category of index colonoscopy was defined as normal (no adenoma), low- (1 or 2 adenomas less than 10 mm)-, and high- (advanced adenoma or more than 3 adenomas) risk groups.
