Miltefosine treatment reversed post water avoidance (WA) visceral hypersensitivity in maternally separated rats. (A) Schematic representation of the experimental set-up; the visceromotor response (VMR) to distension was measured before and 24 hours after WA, and after 7 day miltefosine or vehicle treatment. Data shown in histograms (B,C) reflect results of nonhandled and maternal separated rats respectively. Data are given as area under the curve of the relative response to colorectal distension.
