The transcriptional enhancing activity of these plasmid constructs was measured by assay of luciferase (luc) activity of the transfected human T cell line Jurkat (a: rs1322054; b: rs10999435; c: rs112360405 in forward direction; d: rs112360405 in reverse direction; respectively) 24 h after transfection. Cells transfected with the C-allele of rs1322054 showed enhanced luciferase activities compared to the T-allele of rs1322054 (P = 0.00051, Student’s t test). Values of relative luciferase activity are shown as mean ± SD.
