Tilt angle for different pili distribution angles and pili numbers: (a) 0; (b) 30; (c) 60; (d) 90 degrees. Larger the number of pili the tilt angle distributes in a wide range while the average tilt angle is around 5–10 degrees. When the pili distribution angle and the number of pili larger we can see that the bacterium sometimes orients vertically.
