Least square mean body mass (±) for adult male (a) and adult female (b) hispid cotton rats (Sigmodon hispidus) in plots where mesocarnivores were excluded (exclosure) and where predators had unrestricted access (control). Box plots for males (c) and females (d) show the distribution of the raw body mass data. Data were collected as part of a mark-recapture study from 2003–2017 in Baker County, Georgia, USA.
