Frequency spectra showing the mean amplitude profiles changes evoked by massage and hyperoxia in LDF (left column) and PPG (right column) (n = 43, data from both limbs). As shown, the lowest frequency range components show wider amplitudes for LDF, determining this characteristic profile which likely results from the higher sensitivity and specificity attributed to this technology. Regarding PPG, wider variations are noted with higher frequency components, primarily cardiac and myogenic (see text).
